Blood in urine

Blood in urine also known as  gross hematuria, which is a alarming condition of serious disorder .While in many instances the cause is harmless.

There are two types of hematuria:

  • If blood is visible in urine, it is called Gross Hematuria.
  • If blood is not visible in urine without looking at it under a microscope, it is called Microscopic Hematuria.

You might be more likely to have it if you:

  • Have a family history of kidney disease
  • Have an enlarged prostate (in men)
  • Have a history of getting kidney stones
  • Are taking certain medicines, such as pain relievers, blood thinners and antibiotics
  • Participate in strenuous (difficult) exercise
  • Have or recently had an infection

kidneys — or different parts of urinary tract — permit blood cells to leak into urine. Various issues can cause this leakage such as:

  • Urinary tract infections
  • Kidney infections(pyelonephritis)
  • A bladder or kidney stone
  • Enlarged prostate
  • Kidney disease
  • Cancer
  • Inherited disorders. Sickle cell anemia —
  • Kidney damage
  • Medications
  • Strenuous exercise

Runners are most often affected, although anyone can develop visible urinary bleeding after an intense exercise. If you see blood in your urine after exercise, don't assume that it's from exercising or working out.

Contingent on the condition causing your hematuria, treatment may incorporate taking anti-microbials to clear a urinary tract ailment or medicine to contract a developed prostate or having the stun wave.
